Details
Justly regarded as one of the greatest ballerinas of the last two decades, Sylvie Guillem performs her first full evening of contemporary dance. She is joined by the Ballet Boyz, Michael Nunn and William Trevitt (aka George Piper Dances). In an exhilarating, acrobatic work all three dancers are brought together. They lean into perilous balances and heart-stopping falls, with split-second timing. Created especially for the trio,
Broken Fall is the winner of this year's Olivier Award for Best New Dance Production. The programme is completed with two other Maliphant works;
Two, a powerful, driving solo, in which Guillem's swirling arms and legs are multiplied like an optical illusion by Michael Hull's rich lighting, and the Ballet Boyz signature duet
Torsion. A spectacular example of strength and balance work, this work is a game with gravity.
