State of Emergency’s acclaimed National Showcase Tour hits the road, presenting a new show that exposes the male psyche, combining street, hip hop, physical theatre and contemporary dance. Leading Black British choreographers Jeanefer Jean-Charles, Kwesi Johnson and Colin Poole have created three pieces of dance theatre that put male relationships under the microscope, exploring role models and exposing male perspectives on life. From the street to the home, from the bond between father and son to the solidarity of friends hanging out, five male dancers present a snapshot of young men in the 21st Century.
