A Visitation is the first commission for SDT from Ina Christel Johannessen, one of the most influential and inspiring creative forces in Norwegian contemporary dance. The work is inspired by the vivid descriptive writing of Bruno Schultz and draws on the interior designs of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. I Thought I Heard Somebody Calling is choreographed and directed by Janet Smith in collaboration with SDT’s dancers. Through light, reflection and shadow, individual and group encounters, choices and states of play SDT Artistic Director, Janet Smith’s new work explores our internal impulses and dialogues surrounding identity and belonging. Janet’s work has been described as ‘thrilling and life-affirming’ Dance UK Last but not least, The Long and the Short of It is a miniature gem choreographed and performed by company members Caroline Bowditch and Tom Pritchard.
