Details
Britain's biggest and most exciting touring dance company who often tour two programmes at a time. Dancing to a mixture of musical styles they provide enormously watchable evenings.
Songs of a Wayfayer - created by Kim Brandstrup is an evocative work for seven dancers which explores the complex emotions associated with unrequited love. It is danced to Mahler's achingly beautiful song-cycle of the same title, which is performed live.
Five Brahms Waltzes in the Manner of Isadora Duncan - is presented to mark the centenary year of Rambert's founding choreographer, Sir Frederick Ashton. Duncan was a pioneer of the modern dance movement and each short 'waltz' represents a different facet of her personality.
Linear Remains - by Associate Choreographer Rafael Bonachela, bodies intertwine, creating angular patterns of mesmerising complexity and movement that fizzes with tension and energy.
Swamp - clearly demonstrates his classical background, but this only acts as a foundation for his unique originality and inventiveness. The title comes from the play
Who's Afraid of Virgina Woolf? in which Martha refers to her husband as 'Swampy'.
