Britain's biggest and most exciting touring dance company who often tour two programmes at a time. Dancing to a mixture of musical styles they provide enormously watchable evenings.
Sergeant Early Dream - In an exquisitely crafted suite of dances, intricate footwork combines with ingenious sequences to create a work that shifts in mood between the comic and the poignant. Nine dancers are joined on stage by a folk band and vocalist to perform this tender and nostalgic work.
She Was Black A gritty, erotic and wildly theatrical expose of modern urban living by leading European choreographer Mats Ek, this was first performed by the Culberg Ballet of Sweden. The hit of the 1999 Edinburgh Festival, the work lets 11 dancers loose in a fantasy world of explosive movement and emotion, shot through with Ek's famously dark sense of humour.
