Rambert Dance Company - Rooster archiveBritain's biggest and most exciting touring dance company who often tour two programmes at a time. Dancing to a mixture of musical styles they provide enormously watchable evenings. The rock'n'roll swagger of the Rolling Stones is brought thrillingly to life in Rooster, Christopher Bruce's electrifying celebration of the swinging sixties. Sharp-suited, snake-hipped men and strong, sassy women perform virtuoso courtship dances to some of the Stones' most famous tunes, including Not Fade Away, Paint It Black, Sympathy for the Devil and Little Red Rooster. Rambert, Britain's national dance company, combines inventive storytelling, world-class dancers and a live orchestra to create an exhilarating theatrical experience. One of its all-time best-loved pieces, Rooster tops the bill in a mixed programme also featuring a brand new dance work created by Rambert's Olivier Award-winning Artistic Director Mark Baldwin, and Four Elements by US dance legend Lucinda Childs.
