Rambert Dance Company - Beach Birds/Hurricane/Twin Suite 2/At Any Time archiveBritain's biggest and most exciting touring dance company who often tour two programmes at a time. Dancing to a mixture of musical styles they provide enormously watchable evenings. Rambert Dance Company celebrates its 75th anniversary this year and, in its first visit to the Linbury Studio Theatre. It presents a programme of innovative new works by two company members Rafael Bonachela and Glenn Wilkinson (Twin Suite 2)- two Rambert dancers who have established themselves as choreographers. The programme also includes Merce Cunningham's mesmerising Beach Birds, which was critically acclaimed at its recent Rambert premiere and Hurricane by Christopher Bruce - commissioned as a solo for the former Rambert dancer, David Hughes and first performed in October 2000, the ballet is inspired by the life of the American boxer, Rubin 'Hurricane' Carter, and danced to music by Bob Dylan.
