Rambert Dance Company - A Tragedy of Fashion/Swamp/Elsa Canasta archiveBritain's biggest and most exciting touring dance company who often tour two programmes at a time. Dancing to a mixture of musical styles they provide enormously watchable evenings. A Tragedy of Fashion - In 1926 Rambert's Founding Choreographer, Sir Frederick Ashton, choreographed A Tragedy of Fashion. This new version by Ian Spink makes reference to the original plot of fashion, art and suicide but also highlights Ashton's creative influences in the 1920s. Swamp, a piece he first created for Rambert's 60th Anniversary. Clark's choreography clearly shows the influence of his classical background, but this only acts as a foundation for his originality and inventiveness. Elsa Canasta - Created by Javier De Frutos, Elsa Canasta is a genuine crowd-pleaser. Love, in all its forms, is explored here and sexual chemistry bursts out of this vibrant and witty interpretation of Cole Porter's music and lyrics. (Not suitable for children).
