Pina Bausch (who died in June 2009) was a German modern dance choreographer and a leading influence in the development of the Tanztheater style of dance. A piece by Pina Bausch for men and women of 65 and over. To contemporary audiences worldwide Pina Bausch needs no introduction. In this, her first visit to BITE, Pina Bausch brings a seminal work, re-invented for the new millennium. Kontakthof was first performed in 1978, a bittersweet study of innocence and experience, re-created here for a group of local residents, trained over 18 months at Tanztheater Wuppertal. Running time 180 mins with one interval. Presented in association with Cultural Industry.
