Angels in the Architecture - Premiered in 1992, Angels in the Architecture is set to Aaron Copeland’s famous music, Appalachian Spring and is inspired by the life and beliefs of the Shaker people. The choreography is a beautiful and moving tribute to the simple yet spiritually motivated lives they led. The movement complements the American landscape conjured within Copeland’s magnificent score.
A Simple Man - Based on Salford born LS Lowry’s famous stick men paintings A Simple Man was choreographed by Gillian Lynne (Cats, Phantom of the Opera) and originally premièred in 1987 with the late Christopher Gable (NBT Artistic Director 1989 – 1998) as Lowry. Returning by popular demand, this is a rare opportunity to see these evocative paintings of Northern life brilliantly animated through dance, drama and live music. A Simple Man is a landmark piece in NBT’s history and was instrumental in securing the Company’s reputation as the UK’s leading narrative dance company.
As Time Goes By - A collection of dance choreographed to classic songs.
