Details
Formerly Diversions Walking Mad, by revered Swedish choreographer Johan Inger is a riveting piece of dance for nine dancers, full of wit and laced with an unsettling edge of madness, whilst Alexander Ekman's Tuplet uses humour and meticulous rhythm and timing to create a fun and uplifting experience that brings out the unique personalities of the Company dancers as well as showcasing their strength as a group. These two new works in the Company programme will be performed alongside Stephen Shropshire's 2014 creation Mythology, and a choice of Lee Johnston's two works Purlieus and They Seek to Find the Happiness They Seem, created for the Company in collaboration with the dancers. Mythology is a fiercely physical yet thought provoking work set to avant-garde jazz and spoken word that pushes the dancers to their physical limits. Lee Johnstons' They Seek to Find the Happiness They Seem is an emotional duet that explores the disconnection that can occur in relationships and is set to lighting design by Joe Fletcher while in Purlieus, created by the same unique artistic collaboration, dancers move between boundaries and blankets of stunning 3D light animation to create a beautiful and immersive experience.
