Natalia Osipova and Ivan Vasiliev have enthralled audiences around the world, capturing their admiration and imaginations as few dancers have in many years, whether performing together or as soloists. We would like to welcome the return of dance superstars Natalia Osipova and Ivan Vasiliev for a limited engagement of four performances in a spectacular programme titled Solo for Two. The evening's opening is a new piece by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, drawing on two previous pas de deux, In Memoriam and Mea Culpa, entitled Mercy. It is set to music by Heinrich Sch?tz and Johann Hermann Schein, and accompanied by members of Akad?mia from France, conducted by Fran?oise Lasserre. Mercy is followed by Passo by Ohad Naharin, artistic director of Batsheva Dance Company, and danced to music by British electronic music duo Autechre with English traditional folk music. The evening concludes with Facada by Arthur Pita, adapted specially for Natalia and Ivan, from his original piece God's Garden. Original music by Frank Moon, Phil King and Portuguese traditional fado will be played live by Frank Moon.
