Details

A vivid and vibrant Italian production, Napoletango tells the story of the Incoronato family, a travelling troupe of 20 entertainers, known in Naples for their special art and passion for Tango. Like a noisy circus family, the Incoronato family used to perform in squalid taverns and town fairs. Now for the first time they have been invited to perform in a beautiful theatre... What unfolds is a mosaic of scenes taken from everyday life in the ghettos, narrated by the music of two different traditions: the Neapolitan song and Tango. Starting with the set up of the dance company, it mixes rehearsals with the dancers personal stories and the aromas of Italian cooking on stage and stunning Tango exhibition dances. But will the Incoronato family finally achieve their dream to perform on Broadway? Prepare to be dazzled by hilarious interaction, by hysterical and sexy dance, and by the captivating music that merges the Gotan Project with traditional Tangos like La Cumparsita, the classic Neapolitan songs with Hernando s Hideway, and an original theme by Luis Bacalov.
