Details

Exceptional dancer, teacher and winner of a Standard Bank Young Artist Award (Dance) in South Africa last year, Moya Michael presents her first full evening of work. The programme includes Hatch, a new work with her own all-female company, and a solo performed by guest dancer Dada Masilo (choreography by Gregory Maqoma) on a rare visit from Johannesburg. Moya Michael (a founder member of the Akram Khan Company) is a choreographer whose ideas and language confront the notion of what is considered beautiful in dance, and how it can be challenged. Crying Out Loud, London have commissioned two different but related trios that will open and close the evening. Created in collaboration with six talented young Londoners (9-11 year old students from The Place) Escotilla and Chamisela draw on ideas woven through the adult works to create their own identifiable tapestry.
