Falling. Oguike's signature piece, the searing and poignant Front Line opens the evening. This critically acclaimed sextet is performed to Shostakovich's 9th Quartet, played live by the Pavão Quartet. By contrast, Scarlatti's bright and rhythmic pieces for harpsichord provide the starting point for
White Space, a stylish septet in which music, movement and visuals interplay. Next,
Falling, a groundbreaking dance-film directed by Dan Farberoff and inspired by NASA astronaut Steve MacLean's space walk. A moving and mesmerising duet choreographed by Oguike, featuring an original soundtrack of piano and voice by Errollyn Wallen, narration by Steve MacLean. To end -
Finale, a full company work which brings pure sunshine to the stage. Set to the carnival rhythms of René Aubry's music, this joyous piece will send you home on a high!
