Details

In Ceci n'est pas Noire (This is Not Black), an Afropean woman takes you on a spellbinding journey using dance, theatre spoken word and song. Choreographer and performer Alesandra Seutin delves into memories of her upbringing in Europe and Africa, playing with masks and guises as she moves from place to place, following the winding roads of memory. In Clay, American contemporary dancer Asha Thomas and British flamenco bailaora Yinka Esi Graves draw from their collective memory and experiences to create a unique shared language. With routes spanning Jamaica, Ghana, and the American Deep South with its Baptist preachers, they explore the connections between who they believe themselves to be and the unconscious parts of their identities. Includes live music from award-winning flamenco guitarist Guillermo Guillen
