Details
Eclectic Matter is an energetic evening of dance, music and film from exceptional London-based artists placing improvisation at the heart of performance creation.
Touched - Gaby Agis creates Touched, a new duet with Douglas Hart, the original bass player with The Jesus and Mary Chain. Performing together live on stage for the first time, Gaby and Douglas fuse their elemental interpretations of dance and sound in this vigorous, improvisational collaboration.
Sketch - A short dance film by dance artist Henry Montes and filmmaker Deobrah May. Sketch was a 1996 BBC pilot for Dance for the Camera, recreated 11 years later in 2007 with new animation; kneading and drawing the body are its starting points.
In Land - An understated environmental dance film by Joe Moran; originally shown as visual projection in Moran’s live work, Oh Abraham (The Place, 2004), and later edited into a stand-alone work, presented in 2008 as single screen installation at the Wilkinson Gallery in London.
Little Mother - Little Mother is a forceful new solo by Florence Peake. An emblem taken from her mother's materials, aches with the weight of all it’s heritage; a little story of matrilineal descent.
Falling Wide - Falling Wide is a London-based charity pioneering innovation in dance. Under the artistic directorship of Gaby Agis and Joe Moran, Falling Wide creates performance events, trains and supports artists, and runs the Breathing Space dance-in-health programme. By working in new, different or unusual environments, or by bringing experimental practice into more established venues, Falling Wide seeks to challenge artistic and social barriers to foster a new generation of artists and art experiences.
