Details
English National Ballet School gives an exclusive performance at Royal Festival Hall, including the lullaby section from Frederick Ashton's The Dream, which is based on the Shakespeare play A Midsummer Night's Dream. This pas de deux is a dialogue between the proud, capricious Fairy Queen Titania and Oberon, the King of the Fairies. This is the first time since 1978 that a school has performed this pas de deux; the original Oberon, Sir Anthony Dowell, has given his permission for this performance by English National Ballet School. Dancers from the School also perform a contemporary piece by Kerry Nicholls from Random Dance and a work by Ashley Page.
