CandoCo has gained a reputation as the world's leading company of disabled and non-disabled dancers. Candoco Dance Company continues to surprise and exhilarate audiences with new perspectives on what dance can be. In this double bill, Encounters, Candoco is to showcase Alexander Whitley's moving piece Beheld alongside the preview of Set and Reset/Reset, a re-imagining of Trisha Brown's iconic Set and Reset. We look forward to inviting you to experience two of our signature works. Throughout Set and Reset/Reset, find yourself captivated by grace and energy in a dance piece that has been developed through an extensive improvisation process to mesmerising effect. Set to a dynamic score, this is contemporary dance at its most seductive. Sadler's Wells New Wave Artist, Alexander Whitley creates visually striking dance pieces, which incorporate sinuous and expressive movement articulations. Beheld, his new work for Candoco Dance Company, is set to a mesmerising score by German Composer Nils Frahm, reworked by Rutger Zuydervelt. Performed by Candoco's company dancers for the first time in October 2015, it's a resonant and emotive piece that should not be missed. CandoCo Dance Company website.
