Blue Eyed Soul Dance Company is once again playing with fire in rewriting the rules of what dance should be in order to ask questions that dance never asks. In their latest production they have combined stunning visual imagery with brutally raw physicality, creating a dance theatre piece of monster proportions. Stitching together Mary Shelley's gothic horror with unnerving glimpses of our factual future, eight performers create a terrifying view of 21st century genetics that reeks havoc through the world of dance. Powerful, dark, beautifully danced, unmisable. Astonishing!

Saw it in the MAC (Birmingham) after a recommendation from a friend. The content is difficult but accessible via the very individual, imaginative choreography and selective use of text. The narrative flows very well pulling you both intellectually and emotionally. There are some wonderful duets with empty chairs! See it, don't miss it!
