Birmingham Royal Ballet - Galanteries/The Dance House/Elite Syncopations archiveGalanteries - The classical perfection of Mozart’s music is mirrored in Bintley’s elegant choreography for Galanteries. One of his best pure dance works, this ballet is sublime entertainment. The Dance House - the creation of The Dance House was prompted by the early death of a friend and colleague who was a dancer. Bintley balances a light and witty tone whilst fully exploring the darker resonances of Shostakovich’s music in this poignant re-interpretation of the ‘Dance of Death’. Elite Syncopations - A completely stripped-back theatre bursts into life as dancers in brilliantly coloured costumes gather for a dance competition. An equally vibrant rag-time band play old favourites from Scott Joplin and his contemporaries to accompany a string of dazzling and witty sketches. One of Kenneth MacMillan's best-loved creations it is certain to leave you smiling. Birmingham Royal Ballet website.
