Drawing inspiration from John Singleton's 1991 film Boyz n the Hood and W.E.B Dubois' classic essay, The Souls of Black Folk, Pavement explores the issue of gang culture, reflecting on the historical and cultural shifts through Hip-hop and classical dance.
