Van Der Graaf Generator archiveOne of the pioneers of the art rock movement in the 1970 s, Van Der Graaf Generator created some of the most progressive rock music ever laid down, earning themselves a truly intense and cult following. Originally formed in 1967 - memorably named after the machine that generates huge electrical charges - the idea of a reunion originated at a solo Peter Hammill concert at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in 2003,when all four members of the band performed together for the show ’s encore to a standing ovation. As a result, a reunion was agreed, to be centered around new material. A studio was duly booked, resulting in their first (double) album release for nearly 35 years: Present. The concert will include material from the new album as well as some classics from their old repertoire.
