One of the pioneers of the art rock movement in the 1970 s, Van Der Graaf Generator created some of the most progressive rock music ever laid down, earning themselves a truly intense and cult following. Originally formed in 1967 - memorably named after the machine that generates huge electrical charges - the idea of a reunion originated at a solo Peter Hammill concert at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in 2003,when all four members of the band performed together for the show ’s encore to a standing ovation. As a result, a reunion was agreed, to be centered around new material. A studio was duly booked, resulting in their first (double) album release for nearly 35 years: Present. The concert will include material from the new album as well as some classics from their old repertoire.
