Dutchman Tim Kliphuis ranks among the world's finest jazz violinists. Rooted in classical and jazz music, he has often been named the successor of gypsy swing maestro Stephane Grappelli. Tim has made the UK a second home over the years with appearances at Edinburgh, Brecon, Birmingham and Newark Jazz Festivals, as well as major venues such as The Sage Gateshead, the Quecumbar in Battersea, Jooglebery in Brighton, the Caf Hailing from Holland, the classically trained violinist Tim Kliphuis has rapidly become a name in European swing jazz over the last five years. His spirit and style very much resemble that of the late Stephane Grappelli: virtuoso violin playing with a love for melody. Tim is joined by Mitch Dalton on guitar and Len Skeat on double bass and the programme will feature Grappelli's favourite music, a mixture of American songbook classics and gypsy jazz songs.
