Idiosyncratic certainly, yet these are real women with whom women themselves empathise. Sondheim's women tell us much about what it is to be a woman, through their own words and those of the men that surround them. The Bridewell's Artistic Director, Clive Paget, has devised this concert survey of a fascinating, entertaining and emotionally rich aspect of the work of the supreme master of musical theatre. Favourite songs from 11 different shows rub shoulders with rarities from film and revue in a stimulating, musical evening.
