Details
Formed by Radio 3's Lucy Skeaping, the groups' performance ranges from the moving to poignant to the celebratory, lighthearted and frivolous. Ballads and folk songs, music of the ghettos of Eastern Europe; sounds of the Mediterranean islands of Moorish and mediaeval Spain, of 20th Century New York, Yiddish songs and of course Russian Klezmer, combine to create a fantastic celebration of the history of Jewish music and a melting pot of emotions.
