Details
The Armed Man - A Mass for Peace was a special Millennium commission from the Royal Armouries in Leeds and is the latest in a six centuries old tradition of 'Armed Man' masses, which take the 15th century French song
L'Homme Arme as their starting point. Large-scale in both scope and size,
The Armed Man is a profoundly moving yet very accessible work, which uses the most traditional of musical forms to explore an all too contemporary subject: the search for peace in a hostile world. To mark the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme.
