St Petersbury Quartet archiveOne of the world’s leading string quartets, the St. Petersburg was founded in 1985 as the Leningrad Quartet. When the city of Leningrad resumed its historic name, the Quartet changed its name to the St. Petersburg String Quartet. The Quartet has continued its ascendancy, building a reputation of worldwide proportions including a Grammy nomination, and ‘Best Record’ honours in both Stereo Review and Gramophone magazines. Audiences in Europe, Japan and across the USA have given standing ovations to this acclaimed group and the programme for their Lakeside debut promises a truly wonderful musical evening.
