Something Wonderful archiveAlex Parker brings an evening concert of the music of Rodgers and Hammerstein, the legendary musical theatre partnership. Featuring songs from musicals including: Oklahoma; The Sound of Music; The King and I; State Fair; Carousel and South Pacific. Something Wonderful marks Rodgers's centenary year with a collection of songs written in collaboration with Lorenz Hart and Oscar Hammerstein II. Together they wrote and produced some of Broadway's biggest musical hits including Oklahoma! and South Pacific. Joined by a jazz trio, chorus and full orchestra, Sally Burgess will perform songs demonstrating Rodgers's extraordinary musical range, including 'Blue Moon', 'Happy Talk', 'Johnny One Note' and 'Bali Ha'i'.
