Since it's formation in 1990, the Smith Quartet has established an International reputation and developed a repertoire by some of the world's most exciting composers including Django Bates, Graham Fitkin and Michael Nyman. This concert includes the first performance of Colin Riley's song cycle for amplified soprano and string quartet, Skempton and Fox's quirky and witty clarinet quintets and a major recent work by Steve Reich.
