Slowly Rolling Camera from the dynamic and fiercely independent Edition Records camp, teams up pianist-composer Dave Stapleton, producer Deri Roberts, vocalist-lyricist Dionne Bennett and drummer Elliot Bennett, with some of the best jazz musicians in the country, including Troyka's Chris Montague. The result is music that has distinct echoes of UK progressives Cinematic Orchestra as well as the polychrome textures of maverick Scandinavian artists Sigur Ros. Double bass-led grooves combine with shifting rhythms and textures and arresting harmonies, to create a jazz/soul/club sound with a distinctively contemporary chilled edge.
