Sarah Jane Morris - Where It Hurts archive"Leave your preconceptions at home" begins one London critic's assessment of sensual singer-songwriter Sarah Jane Morris, who straddles rock, blues, jazz and soul with a goosebump-raising four octave range that rumbles from the heels of her size eight shoes to the tips of her flame-red mane. The Communards’ singer tells her life story in words and music. This show was launched to critical acclaim at last year’s Edinburgh Festival. Sarah Jane Morris’ one woman show is an intimate, autobiographical performance named after her recent album ‘Where It Hurts’. She reveals her life story from her father’s imprisonment when she was just 17 and becoming a political activist during the Thatcher years to having a number 1 hit with the Communards, running her own record label and marrying one of The Pogues.
