Prom 58 - Czech Philharmonic Orchestra archivePart of the BBC Proms. Famed over decades, the Czech Philharmonic returns to the Proms with a three-part celebration of music closely associated with it, including Dvorak's radiant Eighth Symphony, Martinu's equally colourful and spontaneous final symphony and a luminous musical legend by Janacek. Joining Sir John Eliot Gardiner, who makes the third of his four Proms appearances (see also Proms Saturday Matinees 1 & 2 and Prom 75), Lars Vogt offers a contrasting impression of musical nationalism in Grieg's intensely Norwegian and everfresh concerto - before returning to play more Janacek tomorrow lunchtime. Finish time: approx. 21:20
