Prom 53 - Norwegian Chamber Orchestra archive

Part of the BBC Proms. The Norwegian Chamber Orchestra visits with joint Artistic Director Isabelle van Keulen and Principal Guest Director Leif Ove Andsnes, taking charge from their respective instruments. Two contrasting works by Mozart - the sparkling 'Haffner' Symphony and the more dramatic C minor Piano Concerto - frame Scandinavian pieces new and old: Grieg's beloved string-orchestra classic and Danish Bent Sørensen's new piano concerto, La mattina, which the composer regards as containing both his 'darkest and most profound' music.
