Details
Part of the BBC Proms. Marking the 75th anniversary of the BBC Scottish SO, this packed concert recreates the night in 1962 when the orchestra first came to the Proms. A pair of Russian favourites is joined by Liszt’s punchy First Concerto, in which Boris Berezovsky adds his name to the week’s line-up of distinguished pianists. The only alteration from the original programme is that the new piece on that occasion - by Thea Musgrave (who has a commission later this season) - is replaced with a new work by another Scot, James Dillon (60 this year). Finish time: approx. 22:20
