Details
Part of the BBC Proms. Our series celebrating young orchestras and choirs in many forms begins with a collaboration between two major music colleges from either side of the Atlantic. Their suitably continent-crossing programme begins with Respighi's exuberantly cinematic survey of the festivals of Rome, the eternal city, and ends with John Adams's symphonic triptych evoking the mood of 1950s Los Angeles. Ravel's vivacious, blues-tinged concerto elegantly bridges the two worlds. Finish time: approx. 21:35
