Details
The Primrose Piano Quartet was formed in 2004 by pianist John Thwaites and three of the UK s most renowned chamber quartets (Lindsay, Maggini, Sorrel, Edinburgh). It is named after the great Scottish violinist, Williasm Primrose, who himself played in the Festival Piano Quartet. The evening starts with a one course supper in The Bistro at Brunton Theatre, followed by a delightful evening of classical music in The Conference Room at Brunton Theatre. The Primrose Piano Quartet make their welcome return to Brunton Theatre presenting another programme of chamber music gems. Robert Schumann's deeply romantic Piano Quartet starts the concert, followed by a rare gem, the String Trio by Ernst von Dohnanyi, full of authentic Hungarian and Gypsy Flavour. Dvorak's sunny and tuneful Piano Quartet in E flat finishes the programme with a flourish.
