BBC Proms Chamber Music Following her Shostakovich concerto yesterday evening, Julia Fischer returns for the demanding and intensely expressive sonata by Belgian virtuoso Eugène Ysaÿe. Her frequent chamber music partner, Ukrainian pianist Milana Chernyavska, joins her for the large-scale, Romantically turbulent sonata by César Franck, one of the works with which this late-flowering, Paris-based composer changed the course of French music.
