BBC Proms Chamber Music As a prelude to Bach Day (Saturday 14 August), the Amsterdam-based ensemble Musica ad Rhenum plays music by the figurehead of this extraordinary musical dynasty and two of his composer sons. Two works honour the 300th anniversary of Wilhelm Friedemann Bach; and there are trio sonatas by his younger brother Carl Philipp Emanuel and by their father Johann Sebastian. The concert culminates in Johann Sebastian's great trio sonata from the Musical Offering, his collection of canons, fugues and other pieces based on a theme by Frederick II of Prussia.
