With its unique combination of performance and education, Orchestra Europa is changing the lives of young people and enhancing the future of orchestral playing in Europe. Founded in 2006, the ensemble comprises students on the cusp of their careers. Alongside valuable performance experience, they receive mentoring from professional players and in turn, mentor school children, establishing a continuous cycle of performance and education. Orchestra Europa makes its Southbank Centre debut in collaboration with ARK and the King Solomon Academy. Performing with artistic director Scott Ellaway and with pianist sensation Alexander Melnikov, this exciting and innovative new ensemble brings its revolutionary vision for classical music to the capital.
