From the air and water of his native Suffolk, Benjamin Britten crafted a musical Christmas celebration like no other: a garland of song, charged with the power of tradition and bright with the promise of renewal. His Ceremony of Carols is the wonderfully fitting heart of this carol concert with a difference, the vital link in a chain of seasonal music that stretches from Britten through familiar favourite carols and freshly-minted classics.
