Details
Mozart's great Requiem is performed alongside Vaughan's Williams' tribute to Sir Henry Wood, Serenade to Music, a setting of Shakespearian text on the music of the spheres. This theme continues in the premiere of Solaris - a piece inspired by Galileo and the amazing voyage of sunspots, transforming from ?dark' spots on unimaginably bright stars, to shimmering lights in the cold dark atmosphere of a planet 93 million miles distant.
