Marlowe Young Musician of the Year archiveA pivotal figure in the early punk rock and pub rock scenes, Nick became famous for songs such as Cruel To Be Kind, I Love The Sound of Breaking Glass and What's So Funny About Peace Love And Understanding? (which was also made into a hit record by Elvis Costello). He remains one of this country's most accomplished songwriters and has seen his songs covered by such legendary artists as Johnny Cash and Tom Petty. Currently waking up the nation at breakfast time on Classic FM, Jane Jones joins the Kent Concert Orchestra (conducted by John Perkins) to present the Marlowe Young Musican of the year competition. Presented at the Gulbenkian Theatre for the first time, this hugely enjoyable concert gives you the chance to see the classical music stars of tomorrow.
