Details
The Ludwig String Trio, three of today's finest chamber musicians indulge in their greatest shared passion; getting right to the heart of wonderfully profound music. Brahms spent twenty years re-drafting this trio before it was finally published. It's full of energetic yet disturbing vigour and passion, which reflect his turbulent thoughts of self-doubt. Schumann was a pianist and inspired by the music of Beethove; both of which are evident in his Op.47 quartet. Dvorak's Op.87 quartet was premiered just days before he started writing the Dumky piano trio, which was heard earlier in the tour. The quartet is much more Brahmsian and uses less folk tunes than the trio.
