One of the world's finest chamber orchestras, founded in 1949. Principle Guest Conductor James Galway. Schubert's Unfinished Symphony has always been his most popular orchestral piece. The two contrasted movements he completed were his finest orchestral pieces up to that time, and the reasons that he didn't complete the work are still unclear. Mendelssohn's concerto begins with a noble and impassioned first movement, which links directly to the slow movement - a soulful song without words. The quicksilver finale is unadulterated enjoyment. Mozart's final symphony sums up his achievement in the form, with a grand and spacious opening movement, a complex and chromatic slow movement and one of his most famous minuets. The finale combines elements of fugue and sonata form in a tour de force of miraculous ingenuity. The London Mozart Players is Anvil Arts' Orchestra in Association
