London Contemporary Orchestra - with NonClassical archiveTwo of the UK's most adventurous groups, both at the forefront of the classical music revolution, present an incredible night of new music. Roundhouse and summer festival regulars the London Contemporary Orchestra (LCO) present works by some of the 20th century's most iconic composers, alongside music by Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood and the European Premiere of Nonclassical's Gabriel Prokofiev's Concerto for Bass Drum and Orchestra. Throughout the evening Nonclassical will present genre-busting DJ sets from Richard Lannoy and Gabriel Prokofiev featuring the very latest from the label and live sets by soloists and groups from the LCO and the Roundhouse Music Collective, bringing the unique atmosphere of their classical club nights to the Roundhouse. This performance is part of Music Nation which will be a Countdown Event for the London 2012 Festival, the finale of the Cultural Olympiad. The festival will be a 12-week UK-wide cultural celebration from 21 June 2012 bringing leading artists from all over the world together to celebrate the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games through dance, music, theatre, the visual arts, film and digital innovation.
