Details
The annual summer showcase given by the Jette Parker Young Artists is an undoubted highlight of the calendar for anyone interested in experiencing the skills of some of the most talented young performers working on the operatic stage today. The Young Artists are already highly trained professionals when they are selected for the Programme, which lasts for two years, and they join a scheme that has proved invaluable both to them and to The Royal Opera since it began more than a decade ago. The programme will consist of the Overture from Otto Nicolai's Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor followed by excerpts from Act I of Giuseppe Verdi's Simon Boccanegra, Act I of Francesco Cilea's Adriana Lecouvreur, Act III of Georges Bizet's Les Pecheurs de perles, Part IV of Hector Berlioz's La Damnation de Faust and Act IV scene I and Act V scene II of Charles Gounod's Romeo et Juliette.
