The Instrumental Quintet of London takes its name from the Quintette Instrumental de Paris, formed in 1922 by Rene Le Roy. Both Classical and Romantic works for different instrumental combinations are performed in this colourful program. The concert ends with the virtuosic and flamboyant Concert a Cinque, a concerto for five instruments by the Belgian composer Joseph Jongen, which demonstrates the flair and versatility of the performers.
