Hull Choral Union - Messiah archiveHull Choral Union was founded in 1929 as a result of the amalgamation of two local musical societies, Hull Harmonic Society and Hull Vocal Society. The choir quickly established a strong reputation and has taken pleasure in bringing high quality choral events to the city of Hull ever since. For many, it wouldn't be Christmas without a concert of Handel's Messiah. One of Handel's best known works, it tells the Christmas story with a mixture of choruses and arias. Audiences will hear the flapping of angels' wings, the raging nations and of course, the famous Hallelujah Chorus, performed under chorus master and conductor, Sam Gardner.
