Back in 1991 Ensemble Bash were forced to rehearse in a lay by to avoid complaints from their neighbours. It was worth it. Today the group is the UK's leading percussion ensemble, playing adventurous range of West African, classical, jazz and rock music. Argentinian tangos, African drumming and dazzling contemporary repertoire: it’s a meeting of two of the great unpredictable spirits in modern music, the constantly inventive master pianist Joanna MacGregor and Dadaist punk-percussionists Ensemble Bash.
